Types Of Diabetes

 

Diabetes is a major disorder. It affects the way our body use digested food. The food we eat is being converted to glucose and it flows through the bloodstream which is being used by cells for energy. Insulin is a hormone which should be present for glucose to reach the cells. Insulin is a hormone which is behind the stomach. This insulin is being produced by pancreas.

Now a days there is no age group which is being excluded from this disorder. People who are in 20’s are being affected by this disorder. There are different types of diabetes which affects people. In generally there are 3 types of diabetes which affects people. They are Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes. Type 1 is one type of diabetes which mostly affects people before the age of 30. Now a days this age limit is getting reduced and people in 20’s get affected by this type. If a person is affected with Type 1 type of diabetes he/ she cannot create insulin. Insulin is really necessary and therefore that person has to take insulin shots that are insulin injection daily in order to survive. Symptoms usually develop over a short period. Some of the symptoms are increased urination and thirst, weight loss, hunger and fatigue. If a Type 1 diabetes person is not treated properly he/ she may get into diabetic coma which is medically referred as diabetic ketoacidosis.

Type 2 is another type of diabetes which is very common. This type of diabetes is common in old age. A person can be affected with Type 2 if there is any family history, obesity physical inactivity etc. People who are affected by Type 2 type of diabetes is mainly because of overweight. There are at times people who don’t have any symptom and they might be affected by Type 2, but the basic symptoms are frequent urination and increased thirst, weight loss and healing of wounds will be slow.

Gestational diabetes is another type which is common in pregnant women and it disappears once she gives birth to baby. It is caused by hormonal change and shortage of insulin
