There are over 20 million people who are affected with diabetes in United States. The reason of diabetes is still a myth. There are various symptom from which a person can identify whether he/ she is having diabetes. There are three types of diabetes. They are Type 1 , Type 2 and Gestational diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes affected people must have to take insulin and Type 2 diabetes affected people should take insulin shots or pills. Above all these there is one method which is really helpful in controlling diabetes and keep a person fit. It is Exercise. Exercise is very important for people with diabetes. It is really helpful for people who have Type 2 diabetes. Exercise for diabetes helps regulate blood sugar and provide fitness and protects against heart diseases. What type of exercise one should follow? You can talk to your doctor regarding what kind of exercise you should do. The type of exercise you can do will be decided by your doctor after examining whether you have any other health problems.

Most doctors recommend aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise include walking, jogging, dancing or cycling. What ever exercise you follow make sure you do warm up for about 10 minutes before you start to exercise. When you start an exercise make sure you start slowly and continue till you are comfortable. You should not strain yourself. Aerobic exercise also includes brisk walk, playing or swimming. There are other types of exercise which can be followed. They are flexibility exercise. They are also called stretching. These are helpful to keep your joints flexible. Gentle stretching for about 5 to 10 minutes helps your body warm up and get ready for your aerobic exercise.

Anaerobic exercise is another type of exercise in which one part of the body is being used at one point of time. This is one type of exercise where people tend to develop muscles. It does not strengthen heart of lungs. Aerobic exercise is really helpful to reduce blood sugar. It is really essential to take insulin and to exercise in order to keep fit. Exercise burns calories which helps in loss of weight. Blood sugar level remains normal in healthy weight individual.
